When we first wrote about Signia MaX, it was a platform people had heard about but could not buy anywhere. That has changed twice over. Signia announced MaX globally on 24 August 2026, and on 23 October 2026 Signia India unveiled it at its Annual Customer Seminar at Taj Amer, Jaipur. The first hearing aid on it is the Pure Charge&Go MaX, a rechargeable receiver-in-canal model, and it has now started reaching clinics in India.
This updated guide covers when and where it launched, what the four AI networks actually do, the MaX 7, 5 and 3 levels, where India stands on price, and how it compares with the premium aids from Phonak, Oticon, ReSound and Widex that you can buy here today.

When and Where Signia MaX Launched, Worldwide and in India
Signia, which is part of WS Audiology (WSA), gave journalists a first look at its media event in Munich, Germany, from 15 to 17 June 2026. The official launch followed on 24 August 2026, with a press release datelined Lynge, Denmark, and same-day availability in the US, Germany and the Nordics. HearingTracker and Hearing Review both reported the launch that day.
Asia came next. WSA held a MaX trial event at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore in early September 2026 for journalists from South Korea, Japan, Singapore, the Philippines and India.
The India launch in Jaipur
Signia India launched MaX on 23 October 2026 at its WSA Annual Customer Seminar 2026, held at the Taj Amer hotel in Jaipur. The unveiling was streamed on Signia India’s Facebook page at 2:00 PM IST. The seminar itself ran from 22 to 24 October and brought together hearing care partners from across the country for product launches, awards and the sales team’s annual recognition. Signia India’s own posts describe it as “the launch of Signia MaX in India” and, a week later, said MaX “has officially started reaching clinics across locations” under a MaXpert in-clinic launch.

So MaX is no longer a wait-and-see product here. What has not appeared yet is a public price, since none of Signia India’s launch posts mention one.
What “Acoustic Intelligence” Means in Practice
MaX stands for Multi-adaptive Xperience. Signia describes it as its first multi-dimensional AI platform, built on top of the Signia IX platform. The core is what Signia calls Acoustic Intelligence: four separate deep neural networks, each trained for one job.
- Speech Detection feeds RealTime Conversation Enhancement. Signia says it processes 75 percent more data points than IX and picks out speech in about 50 milliseconds.
- Own Voice Detection runs Own Voice Processing, and unlike IX it no longer needs a calibration step at the fitting.
- Scene Analysis drives Ambient Scene Adaptation, which Signia says weighs more than 800 million possible settings per second.
- Noise Processing handles Dynamic Noise Control.
The networks were trained on 40 million sound samples across 11 languages and six music genres, and the left and right aids share information to make joint decisions. The new chip has, by Signia’s figures, 54 times the processing power of IX, twice the memory and 50 percent better energy efficiency. SoundSmoothing 2.0, eWindscreen 2.0 and a natural-language Signia Assistant in the app round it out. For background on how AI is used in hearing aids generally, see our page on AI hearing aids and Hearwell’s AI technology.
Battery, Charger and Connectivity

Signia rates the Pure C&G MaX at up to 30 hours per charge, which depends on streaming, environment and battery age. A full charge takes four hours, and 30 minutes gives up to six hours of use. The pocket charger stores up to four full charges, which matters if you travel or lose power at home. The aids are IP68 rated with a plasma coating on internal parts. Our rechargeable hearing aid guide compares charger costs across brands.
Signia’s OneConnect combines Bluetooth Classic, Bluetooth LE Audio and a telecoil in one aid, so you get iPhone and Android streaming plus loop systems in temples, halls and offices. The hardware is Auracast-ready, but the feature is switched on through a firmware update via the Signia One app, which Signia expects by March 2027. More on streaming is on our Bluetooth hearing aids page.
MaX 7 vs MaX 5 vs MaX 3
| Level | Channels | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| MaX 7 | 48 | 3 Dynamic AI Focus Streams, Spatial SpeechFocus, Auto EchoShield, 12 kHz bandwidth, 3 HD Music programs |
| MaX 5 | 36 | 1 Dynamic AI Focus Stream, 3 HD Music programs |
| MaX 3 | 32 | 1 HD Music program |
Level 7 is the one to pick if group conversation in noisy rooms is your daily problem. For quieter routines, MaX 3 keeps the same AI networks with fewer channels.
What MaX Costs in India
Signia India has launched MaX but has not published an MRP in its launch posts, so the price for each level is quoted at the clinic after a hearing test. MaX sits above the Signia IX range as Signia’s newest platform, and the Signia brand page shows what Hearwell stocks. If budget matters more than the newest platform, IX is not a dead end: it scored 4.5 on HearAdvisor’s SoundScore. Ask us for a written quote on MaX 7, 5 and 3 alongside IX before you decide.
Signia MaX vs Other Premium Hearing Aids
Here is how MaX 7 stacks up against the flagship aids sold in India today. Specs come from HearingTracker’s product pages and Signia’s launch material.
| Model | AI approach | Battery (rated) | Telecoil | Auracast |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Signia Pure C&G MaX 7 | 4 DNNs (Acoustic Intelligence) | Up to 30 h | Yes | By firmware, March 2027 |
| Signia Pure C&G IX 7 | RTCE, OVP 2.0 | Up to 39 h | On T model | LE Audio hardware |
| Phonak Audéo Sphere I90 | Dedicated DEEPSONIC AI chip | 10 to 11 h with Sphere mode on | Not listed | Ready |
| Oticon Intent 1 | DNN 2.0 (MoreSound Intelligence 3.0) | Up to 20 h | Yes | Yes |
| ReSound Vivia 9 | DNN noise reduction (Intelligent Focus) | 24 h typical | No | Yes |
| Widex Allure 440 | PureSound, Speech Enhancer Pro | 25 h | Yes | Not yet |
A few things stand out. MaX is the only one here with four separate AI networks, while Phonak puts its AI on a second chip that only runs fully in Sphere mode, which is why that mode costs so much battery. The MaX charger and battery rating are among the more generous in the group. Its telecoil, which Phonak Sphere and ReSound Vivia lack, is still useful in India for loop-equipped halls and places of worship.
Lab scores give another angle. In HearAdvisor testing, the MaX 7 scored 4.3 (A grade, Expert Choice award), against 4.9 for Phonak Sphere, 4.8 for Oticon Intent, 4.7 for Widex Allure and 3.9 for ReSound Vivia. Those tests use a fixed setup and say nothing about your ears, and MaX’s speech-in-noise result rose noticeably after professional tuning. Signia’s own studies, which claim 97 percent of wearers did better with MaX in noisy group talk than with key competitors, were manufacturer-sponsored. Treat both as a starting point for a trial, not a verdict.
For the brand-level picture see Signia vs Phonak, the Phonak price guide and Phonak Eon vs older models. The Oticon price guide, Widex price guide and Starkey vs ReSound cover the rest, and the hearing aid price guide for India puts every brand side by side.
Who Should Pick MaX, and Who Should Not
- Pick MaX if you spend a lot of time in noisy group settings such as family functions, restaurants or meetings. That is the problem MaX was built for.
- Consider IX if budget matters more than the newest platform. A well-fitted IX still performs very well, and our guide to choosing a digital hearing aid walks through the decision.
- Consider other styles if you want something nobody can see. MaX is only a receiver-in-canal aid for now; see our invisible hearing aids guide instead.
- Check the CGHS ceiling first if you are a government pensioner, using our CGHS reimbursement guide, since a flagship aid will be well above it. Older family members may prefer the options in our seniors guide.
